What We Actually Do

Garage doors, start to finish - broken torsion and extension springs, snapped cables, bent track, worn rollers, opener repair and replacement, and full door swaps when a panel's too far gone to patch. Given that median household income across the service area runs around $119,876 and there are roughly 21,201 owner-occupied houses among the 29,992 households we draw from, a lot of our calls are owners weighing a repair against a full replacement on a door that's 15 to 30 years old - we'll tell you straight which side of that line your door is on.

Memphis sits in a cold-moderate climate band, which is milder than a true northern winter but still cold enough that steel contracts, torsion springs lose tension faster, and nylon rollers crack over a winter if they're already worn. That's a different failure pattern than what you'd see somewhere that never drops below freezing, and it's part of why a spring that looked fine in October can snap on the first genuinely cold morning.

What we don't do: gate systems, fence work, or general handyman jobs. If a call turns out to be about something other than the garage door itself, we'll say so rather than take the job anyway.

Who Does the Work

The people who show up at your house are the people who do the repair - we don't subcontract out spring jobs or opener installs to someone else. Given how much of the area's housing dates to the 1972-2004 window, with a concentration in the 1980s and 90s, a good share of the work is matching parts to doors that are older than a lot of the openers sold today, which means knowing which torsion drums and end bearing plates still fit before you order anything.

We're not going to tell you how many trucks we run or how long we've been doing this, because those aren't facts we're listing here. What we can tell you is that the work itself - diagnosing a spring, setting tension correctly, squaring a track, wiring an opener safely - doesn't change based on how the company markets itself, and that's the part we hold ourselves to on every call in this part of Memphis.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Memphis. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

How old is my garage door likely to be if I bought the house used?

Most houses in this area were built between 1972 and 2004, with a lot of that stock from the 1980s and '90s. If you haven't replaced the door yourself, there's a decent chance you're running original or near-original hardware, which is worth having looked at even if it still opens fine.

Do you install new garage doors or just repair?

We focus on repair and replacement of doors already in service rather than new construction installs. If your door is at the point where repair doesn't make sense anymore, we'll tell you and talk through replacement options instead of patching something not worth saving.

Why did my spring break with no warning?

Torsion springs are rated for a set number of open-close cycles, and on houses built decades ago, that original spring is often still in place. It doesn't wear out gradually in a way you'd notice - it runs fine until it doesn't. Cold snaps can also stiffen metal enough to push a spring near the end of its life over the edge.

Do you cover areas outside the closer neighborhoods?

Yes - we run jobs out to Germantown, Millington, Lakeland, and Arlington along with the closer-in areas. Distance affects scheduling more than whether we'll come, so call and we'll tell you straight whether your address fits the truck's route that day.
